Maryland Firefighters Respond to Tanker Fire

On January 15, 2003 at about 0300, Units from PG and Charles County arrived with a Gasoline Tanker over turned and on fire on Barry Rd jsut off of Rt 210.

On January 15, 2003 at about 0300, Units from PG and Charles County arrived with a Gasoline Tanker over turned and on fire on Barry Rd jsut off of Rt 210. The Level three Hazmat assignment was dispatched.

First arriving unit started a foam operation immediately. Chief N. Finamore on duty as Division Chief 8 requested additional Foam Units and a Crash Truck from Andrews.

Chief Finamore arrived assumed Command. The initial attack line that was put in service was stopped and the fuel was aloud to burn off.

The vehicle had come to stop down an embankment with nothing around it.

Units from Charles County were released quickly and after a short time various other units were released including the Crash Truck and Foam units. PG units cleared the scene around 0800.
