Baltimore Firefighters Handle Hazmat Incident

  Baltimore Fire Department units responded shortly before 3 p.m. on May 7  to the Parks Sausage and Dietz & Watson factory on Henry G Parks Jr. Circle for a reported ammonia leak.Crews observed a haze, and more than 100 workers were evacuating the plant. BCFD hazmat firefighters, with assistance from the Maryland Department of the Environment Incident Response Team, controlled the leak and mitigated the incident.BCFD Decon 1 was on scene to decontaminate firefighters as they exited the structure.
