TX Firefighters Battle Fatal Trailer Fire

On January 9, 2003, firefighters from Corpus Christi Fire Department recieved a call for a trailer fire at 635 Yorktown Blvd., in the Town and Country Moblie Home Park.

On January 9, 2003, firefighters from Corpus Christi Fire Department recieved a call for a trailer fire at 635 Yorktown Blvd., in the Town and Country Moblie Home Park.

Firefighters arrived within minutes and found a trailer well involved with a report of a person trappped.

Firefighters attempted to gain access to the trapped civilian, but were unable to due to the volume of fire and it's proggression.

3 pumpers, one ladder, one District Chief, one EMS unit, and the Flour Bluff Volunteers assisted in knocking down the fire.

One person did escape the blaze, however a 46 year old woman who suffered from MS was unable to escape. Firefighters found the body after the fire was knocked down.

It took fire crews nearly 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, and is still being investigated.

No injuries to firefighters were reported.
