At 3:50 a.m., Sunday, January 3, 2003, the Washington Township/Avon Fire Department in Avon, IN responded to a working structure fire at the Grace Fellowship Church.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the back half of the four year-old church fully engulfed in flames. The fire spread quickly to the sanctuary of the church, forcing all firefighters out of the building to battle the blaze.
