St. Augustine, Fl. – Firefighters from St. Johns County Fire Rescue responding to a reported rollover on State Road 207 on the afternoon of Thursday, April 8, found one female driver unconscious in her heavily damaged Chevy Lumina. The damage to the Lumina made it difficult for firefighters to gain access to the driver so the Jaws of Life were used to free her from the wreckage.

Witnesses said she collided with another female driver in the intersection of SR207 and Rolling Hills Road. The second vehicle, a black Cadillac, sustained only front-end damage. Both women were transported by SJCFR, but the older female in the Chevy was flown from Flagler hospital to a trauma center in Jacksonville.

The extent of the injuries to either party are not known at this time and the accident is still under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Responding units included Squad 5, Rescue 5, Rescue 7 and Engine 14.
