Residential Structure Suffers Heavy Fire Damage in Jefferson Township, New Jersey

On January 23, 2005, Jefferson Twp. Fire Company #2, #1 and the Jefferson Rescue squad were dispatched at approximately 1:10 PM to a working structure fire at 41 Homestead Rd.

On January 23, 2005, Jefferson Twp. Fire Company #2, #1 and the Jefferson Rescue squad were dispatched at approximately 1:10 PM to a working structure fire at 41 Homestead Rd.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and fire from the rear of a single story wood frame dwelling. Mutual aid was requested from Mt. Arlington Fire Department, Picatinny Fire Department, and Hopatcong Fire Department.

Firefighters gained control of the fire within 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported and the American Red Cross was notified and helped to relocate the occupants of the house. The fire remains under investigation.
