St. Augustine, FL - Several homes in the 250 block of N Hidden Tree Drive sat in the path of a fire that moved through the wooded area behind them on Friday afternoon.

Crews from St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and set up on the end of N Hidden Trail Drive with E11 and E22 (Squad 5). Firefighters took a stand in the yards behind the homes with several hose lines just in case the fire broke though, while a tractor from the Florida Division of Forestry cut a fire line around the 1/2 to 1 acre blaze.

Neighbors in the area came out to see the action firsthand and several had their own theories about how the fire started, though none of them were really sure. A crew from Station 14 maintained a protective stance on Dobbs Road at the back of the fire while Tanker 4 sat at the end of Whitehall Drive, ready to spring into action should the need arise.

There were no injuries reported and the fire was contained to the area within the fire line. The cause of the fire is being investigated and officers from the St. Johns County Sheriff's office were on scene talking to residents about the fire.
