Fire Damages $2.2M Mass. House

An attached three-car garage and the apartment above it were destroyed in a three-alarm blaze that struck a multi-million dollar home in Gloucester on March 16, according to the Gloucester Times.

The Gloucester Fire Department was assisted during the incident by neighboring departments including Cape Ann, Rockport, Essex, Manchester, Hamilton, Beverly and Peabody.

Firefighters knocked out nearly every window on the side of the home facing GoodHarborBeach, and used chainsaws to break through the garage doors, the paper reported.

There were no reported injuries.

The house was reportedly under renovation, but an official fire cause was not immediately identified.
