Shortly after 2 p.m. March 10, fire crews from Greeley’s Union Colony Fire Rescue Authority were called to a structure fire at 2280 1ST Ave.
Crews found the single-story home completely involved in fire. They immediately set up firefighting operations and began attacking the fire.
Because the home was so heavily involved in fire, crews were unable to make entry into the structure. The fire was contained to the home and an adjoining storage shed.
Heat from the burning structure melted the siding of the neighboring home.
No injuries were reported.
The home and contents are a total loss and damage is estimated at $60,000. Heat damage to the neighboring home and a vehicle is estimated at $10,000. The fire is under investigation.
