Illinois Crews Battle Garage Fire

Elgin Firefighters responded to a garage fire at 2180 South Street at approximately 5 p.m. yesterday, according to The Chicago Daily Herald. One resident was hospitalized with minor injuries, officials told the newspaper. When crews arrived, they found a detached garage engulfed in flames, a few feet away from the house. The fire was put out in about 15 minutes and caused between $75,000 to $80,000 in damage.
