Firefighters Tackle Jefferson County, West Virginia House Fire

On New Years Eve, Citizens, Independent and Friendship Fire Companies were alerted for a working house fire.

On New Years Eve 2004 Citizens, Independent and Friendship Fire Companies were alerted for a working house fire. Units arrived on scene reporting a single story structure with fire showing from side "A." Personnel from Citizens and Independent Fire Companies made an aggressive interior attack by utilizing two 1 3/4 inch attack lines. The primary search was negative.

Once additional apparatus and personnel arrived on scene a secondary search was completed with negative results. Crews went to work on salvage and overhaul operations.

The fire was brought under control in about a half hour. Units remained on scene for several hours completing salvage and overhaul due to the buildings construction. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported. This incident occurred in Jefferson County, West Virginia.
