Memphis FFs Knock Down Rooming House Fire

On January 17, 2010 the Memphis, Tenn. Fire Department responded to reports of a rooming house on fire. 

Engine 15 arrived on scene to report a medium 1SWF structure with heavy smoke in all divisions.  An interior attack was initiated. 

Crews found an electric meter on fire at the rear of the structure that had obvious extension to the attic. 

Dual preconnects were laid before crews were called out after the center roof collapsed.  Defensive operations were begun and the fire was brought under control in 43 minutes with two aerials and a deck gun. 

No firefighter injuries were reported.
