Building Ripped by Fire in Fort Worth

  Fire destroyed a commercial building along I-35W, just outside of Fort Worth’s business district. The initial alarm at 4:30 a.m. included four engines, two trucks, two chiefs and several support personnel. Crews found heavy smoke showing from the one-story building that housed a staffing business. Thy tried to make entry, but were slowed by steel doors and burglar bars on all of the windows.

The initial alarm at 4:30 a.m. included four engines, two trucks, two chiefs and several support personnel. Crews found heavy smoke showing from the one-story building that housed a staffing business. Thy tried to make entry, but were slowed by steel doors and burglar bars on all of the windows.

As crews made their way inside the structure to attack the flames, they were driven back by heavy fire conditions. They went defenseive as flames took hold of the 3,200 square foot building. Two tower ladders and several handlines were used to knock he fire.

The fire was brough under control about 6 a.m. Crews remained on scene for five hours, mopping up hot spots.

About 35 firefighters responded to the blaze, which caused $350,000 damage.
