MD. FFs Hit House Fire

  At 11:48 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, Cecil County Communications struck Fire Box 200N for the working house fire at 534 Biddle St. in Chesapeake City. Captain Chris Arches advised dispatch that heavy smoke was evident from the Canal Bridge. Deputy Chief Morris assumed command. Heavy smoke was visible from the side A of the two-story structure with attached garage. Heavy fire was visible from side C and D.

At 11:48 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, Cecil County Communications struck Fire Box 200N for the working house fire at 534 Biddle St. in Chesapeake City.

Captain Chris Arches advised dispatch that heavy smoke was evident from the Canal Bridge.

Deputy Chief Morris assumed command. Heavy smoke was visible from the side A of the two-story structure with attached garage. Heavy fire was visible from side C and D.

Command requested two additional engines and a truck added to the box. Two ines were stretched into the structure and an interior attack was initiated. Due to deteriorating conditions driven by high winds, command ordered the evacuation of the structure and that all operations would now be defensive. Crews remained on the scene till 4 p.m. while the fire marshal's office investigated.
