Rochester, NY Firefighters Battle Structure Fire

At 11:20am on Monday, November 25th, the City of Rochester FD was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from the roof of a house on Murrey St in the City's Second Battalion.

At 11:20am on Monday, November 25th, the City of Rochester FD was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from the roof of a house on Murrey St in the City's Second Battalion. Within 2 minutes Engine 5 was on location with heavy smoke showing.

At that time Engine 10 was special called as the RIT team bringing a total of 2 Quint / Midi companies, 3 Engine companies, Battalion 2, the Deputy Chief and the Protectives to the scene.

The Structure, a 2 ? story duplex was heavily damaged but no civilians or firefighters were injured.

The official cause is still under investigation but thought to be accidental in nature. The occupants of the apartment of origin were not home at the time of the incident which was called in by the co-tenants. The fire was under control in under 30 minutes.
