Crofton, MD 4 Alarm Commercial Fire

On November 18 at approximately 1300hrs, Anne Arundel County units were alerted to a fire in a 1-story commercial property in the Crofton.

On November 18 at approximately 1300hrs, Anne Arundel County units were alerted to a fire in a 1-story commercial property in the Crofton.

The first alarm was at 12:05, Chief 7 (J. Ayres, Arundel VFD) arrived on the scene and reported explosions in bldg with heavy fire. He requested the 2nd alarm.

With numerous explosions from the American Medical section of the bldg, defensive operations were set up and the 3rd and 4th alarms were struck.

Units from Anne Arundel County were assisted by Annapolis City, Fort Meade, The US Naval Academy, and Prince Georges County. Empty county stations were filled by surrounding counties.

The only injury was to an employee of American Medical who was treated on the scene and released.

The fire displaced at least 4 businesses. All units cleared by 1800 hrs.
