Arizona Residents Assist Sedona Firefighters in Swiftwater Rescue

Dec. 10, 2004
On November 22, 2004 local residents team up with members of the Sedona Fire District to rescue a woman stranded in rain swollen Oak Creek.

At approximately 11:30 A.M., Monday November 22, 2004 emergency crews from the Sedona Fire District responded to a reported stranded person at the lower water crossing to the entrance of Rainbow Trailer Park and Trout Farm.

Upon arrival, crews found that a local resident, attempting to walk across the low water crossing, was swept off her feet. Securing a spot 100 feet downstream in a cluster of trees, she was unable to either get safely to either creek bank or get completely out of the water.
