First to arrive was an off duty firefighter that resides in the same neighborhood and reported the fully involved structure.

The structure was conveniently located on a loop and was accessible from both divisions Alpha and Bravo with hydrants on both.

Battalion Chief 81 set up command and quickly ordered a second alarm, which added a third engine company (firestix) and a Squad / Air unit to the initial alarm. This alarm consisted of 2 engine companies, 1 Truck company, a Battalion and a Medic Company.

Two 1 3/4 handlines on division Bravo, two 1 3/4 lines plus one 2 1/2 on division Alpha knocked the bulk of the fire down in less than 30 minutes.

Due to dirt roads, power lines and trees the Tower 814 was not placed in service. After the knock down the Firestix was placed in the front yard for overhaul operations.

Occupants stated when they woke up they found dense smoke and a dull crackling sound. They grabbed clothing and a cell phone the called 911 on their way out the door.

Shift change was done on scene. The cause is still under investigation.
