The City of Northfield Fire Department was dispatched to the Mainland Medical Center at 1750 Zion Road at 4 p.m. on Dec. 18 for a report of a structure fire.

Additional mutual aid was brought in from Egg Harbor Twp. for Cardiff's tower, Farmington's air unit, an Engine from Bargaintown for cover up, along with an Engine from the City of Margate for cover up.
The Atlantic County Field Comm and CBRNE unit were called in as the building contained pharmaceuticals, x-ray equipment, and other unknowns.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
