Apartment Burns in Gastonia

  The Gastonia Fire Department responded to this apartment fire at 1907 Wood Street at around 7:40 Thursday morning. Crews of the two engine companies, two ladder companies, two battalion companies and one rescue company found heavy smoke from two sides of the structure. The 22 firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. One female resident was transported to Gaston Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation.

The fire originated in the living room, and the exact cause of the fire is being determined by the Gastonia Fire Investigation Task Force.
