New York Crews Rescue Pets During Fire

  The Valley Stream Fire Department responded to a house fire at approximately 12:37 p.m. on Nov. 24 with reports of possible people and pets inside of the structure. When crews arrived on the scene, a mother and her two children were out of house and their pit bull and mini schnauzer were soon rescued by firefighters. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, which started in the kitchen and spread to other parts of the house.
