Philadelphia 5 Alarm Injures 19


Philadelphia firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 7029 Rising Sun Ave. on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009 at 4:30 a.m.

Five alarms’ worth of firefighters were needed to bring the fire under control. Firefighters had to rescue numerous people from the building.

At least 12 people were transported to area hospitals, including one critical patient. A shelter was set up at Northeast High School for at least 100 evacuated residents.

According to reports, the fire was under control by 6:30 a.m. and the cause is under investigation.
