Patient Extricated by W.Va. Crew

  This single-vehicle crash occurred on Oct. 31 on Point Mountain Road in Webster County, W.Va. Webster Springs Volunteer Fire Dept. responded with a heavy rescue and a squad for a heavy extrication. The patient was trapped for approximately 24 minutes. Challenges faced in the extrication included the tree had fallen on the ground and needed to be stabilized; the crew had to stabilize it and truck with cribbing and rescue jacks. They cut the posts to remove the roof.
