Structure Fire Tackled in N.J.

  On Nov. 11, at 2:10 a.m., Cherry Hill crews were dispatched to 1110 Hickory Circle for a building fire at "The Woods." The crew of Ladder 1344 reported heavy fire conditions from a two- story middle of the row with reports of occupants trapped. The All-Hands Box was sounded. Crews gained entry into the structure, and using the thermal imaging camera, were able to locate and remove and occupant. The 2nd occupant was able to escape from the building.

The All-Hands Box was sounded. Crews gained entry into the structure, and using the thermal imaging camera, were able to locate and remove and occupant. The 2nd occupant was able to escape from the building.

Both patients were transported to the Trauma unit at Cooper Hospital with serious smoke inhalation.

The second-alarm was sounded.

Crews battled heavy fire conditions with extension into the attached exposures. The fire was knocked down and placed under control with no injuries to firefighters.

The fire was brought under control in 40 minutes. The structure consisted of 16 wood-frame units.

Command reported a total of 35 displaced occupants from the building. The fire damaged at least five units.

The American Red Cross was called for assistance. Several mutual aid companies were called to the scene.

The Cherry Hill Fire Department and Camden County Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation.
