Fiery New York Crash Kills Automobile Driver

On October 30, 2004, the Uniondale Fire Department (New York) was called to the corners of Jerusalem Avenue and Nostrand Avenue for a report of a MVA with fire. A second source reported that a person was trapped in an automobile.

When the Uniondale Fire Department arrived they were confronted with an oil truck and automobile engulfed in fire. The first engine in pushed the line to the fire and foam was used to put the fire out.

Police evacuated 38 people and eight homes in the area as precaution.

The female trapped in the auto was DOA. With the quick response of the Uiondale Fire Department, the fire was stopped before reaching the 2,800 gals of flammable fuel in the truck's tank.
