Pet Perishes in New York House Blaze

On November 2, 2004, at 9:36 AM, a call came in to Hicksville Fire Department (New York) for a house fire.

On November 2, 2004, at 9:36 AM, a call came in to Hicksville Fire Department (New York) for a house fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters were greeted with flames engulfing the first and second stories of the home at 98 Bruce Ave., Hicksville. Departments from Syosset, Bethpage and Jericho were called in for help battling the blaze, which took firefighters an hour to get under control.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and one dog perished from the smoke. The cause of the fire is still being investigated at this time.
