House Burns in Maryland
ELLICOTT CITY, MD - At approximately 10 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 21, units from Howard County Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a house fire in the 4800 block of Country Court in Ellicott City. Battalion Chief 2 found smoke showing from a two-story, single-family house. Engine 71's crew ran a line inside, encountering a room and contents fire on the second floor.
The fire task force was alerted, and the crews were used to rotate personnel out.
One firefighter sustained a minor injury which did not require medical transport.
The cause has been reported as a space heater malfunction. No damage estimates are available at this time.
