Crash Patient Extricated in Savannah

Savannah, GA - Southside EMS was dispatched to Eisenhower Road at Commercial Drive for a two-vehicle crash.

EMS crews found a passenger car in the middle of the roadway that collided with a small pickup. A quick size-up revealed a female patient in the car was entrapped. Additional personnel from Savannah Fire were requested.

Savannah Fire Communications dispatched Engine 7, Rescue 2, Safety 1, command aid and battalion.

Safety 1 established command.

Rescue 2's crew pulled the tools and began gaining entry into the driver's side door. Southside EMS stood by awaiting the extrication to be completed.

Engine 7's crew pulled a hand line for precautionary measures. Crews removed the victim quickly, and she was transported to the local hospital.

Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department blocked off all roadways for safety and investigated the incident.
