N.M. Crews Extricate Crash Victim

Members of the Espanola DPS Fire/Rescue Department and the Espanola Valley EMS Division work to extricate James Medina, 28, from his vehicle.

Medina apparently suffered a seizure while driving and impacted the rear of the mobile home on Saturday, Oct. 10 at a major intersection in Espanola, NM. Rescue crews were able to free Medina in 15 minutes using hydraulic rams and air bags.

Medina suffered head injuries and a broken right arm, but is expected to make a full recovery. About 200 spectators gathered to watch the rescue and clean-up whick took about two hours.
