Aircraft Rescue Firefighters Respond to Midland, Texas Plane Crash

This incident took place on October 3, 2004 after an annual airshow in Midland Texas. The plane is a C-60 loadstar and was leaving Midland returning to Colorado.

Although not confirmed, the plane crashed on take off after losing power in one engine. While the pilot was trying to compensate for the power loss, the engine started again causing the plane to dip.

Five people were in the plane and had to escape through the flames and escaped with minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. Aircraft Rescue Firefighters stationed at the airport witnessed the crash and responded within seconds of the crash. The left wing of the aircraft separated spewing Avgas over the rear portion and the underneath side of the plane.
