Shortly after 1 PM on October 15, 2004, Camden City New Jersey Fire Rescue Co. 1 was just returning from a motor vehicle accident when they were dispatched to Camden Fire Headquarters to assist the Police Department.

Upon arrival, Rescue Captain Frank Sandrock and four firefighters were advised by Battalion 1 Mike DiPascale that an FBI agent and a Suburban Police Detective had a safe that was taken from a bank robber and neeeded to be opened, checked for contents.

Rescue Co. 1 went to work with their cutting tools and within a few minutes they were able to pry the safe door open.

When the Police and Captain Sandrock pried open the door everyone looked inside but there was nothing there. The Police did not go away empty handed, they had to haul the heavy empty safe back to their police car and take it away.
