Big Tree Firefighters Extricate Hamburg, New York Police Officer

On Friday, October 1, 2004, Big Tree firefighters were alerted for a motor vehicle collision involving a Hamburg police car.

Hamburg, NY -- On Friday, October 1, 2004, Big Tree firefighters were alerted for a motor vehicle collision involving a Hamburg police car. The location of the call was at a very dangerous intersection of three major roadways that has been the seen of multiple accidents in the past.

The patrol car was struck by a minivan on the driver's side door causing moderate damage to the door. Crews from Big Tree and Newton Abbott fire companies quickly removed the door and immobilized the officer who was transported to Erie County Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.

Big Tree was assisted by Newton Abbott and Blasdell Companies along with Hamburg Town Police and Town Fire Coordinators.
