Truck Burns near Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA - Southside Fire Department was dispatched to Highway 204 near I-95 for a reported vehicle fire. Rescue Engine 7 was approaching the area with heavy black smoke showing requesting an additional engine & manpower. Driver Operator Dana Hodges (E-7) found a large truck heavily involved in fire.Firefighters stretched a hand line, and made a quick attack of the fire. Crews conducted extensive overhaul of the truck. Engine 11, med 3 and several 7th district volunteers assisted in the fire attack.

Firefighters stretched a hand line, and made a quick attack of the fire.

Crews conducted extensive overhaul of the truck. Engine 11, med 3 and several 7th district volunteers assisted in the fire attack.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation at this time. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time the blaze broke out and there were no injuries.
