Car Hit by Train in North Carolina

The Gastonia Fire Department and Gaston EMS responded to this train vs. car incident on Thursday morning in Gastonia. The female driver tried to go around the arms at the railroad crossing when they were down, and her vehicle was struck by a train.Her badly mangled vehicle was located several yards from the train crossing. The roof of the car had to be removed by rescuers to allow access to the conscious patient. She was treated by EMS personnel and was transported to Gaston Memorial Hospital.
