Crews Tackle Florida Boat Fire

 At 2:40 p.m. on July 29, St. Pete Beach Firefighters responded to reports of smoke coming from the engine compartment of boat.It was located in the water near 77th Avenue between Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach.

 At 2:40 p.m. on July 29, St. Pete Beach Firefighters responded to reports of smoke coming from the engine compartment of boat.

It was located in the water near 77th Avenue between Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach.

When firefighters arrived they found a boat fully involved. It was quickly determined that the boat operator was the only person aboard, and he was safely onshore.

It took firefighters just over 15 minutes using a mixture of foam and water to put the fire out. The operator was checked by St. Pete Beach paramedics and did not require any medical treatment.
