Fifty Firefighters Respond to Working House Fire in Delaware

On Monday, October 4, 2004, at 5:17 AM, firefighters were called to a working house fire in Wilmington, Delaware.

On Monday, October 4, 2004, at 5:17 AM, in Wilmington, Delaware, Brandywine Hundred, Talleyville, Claymont Fire Companies were dispatched to 232 Philadelphia Pike, Brandywine Hundred for a house fire.

Upon his arrival, Chief Mike DiMauro, Jr. (11-8) found heavy fire and smoke showing from the two-story dwelling. Additional fire companies were requested to assist in the operation. Approximately 50 firefighters from Brandywine Hundred, Talleyville, Claymont, Minquadale, Minquas and New Castle County EMS. Belvedere and Parkside (Delaware County) Fire Companies covered Brandywine Hundreds Station.

Chief Mike DiMauro, Jr. placed the fire under control in approximately 1 hour at 6:16 AM.

There is major fire damage to the structure. One firefighter had a minor injury.

The cause and origin are under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal
