Lancaster, Massachusetts firefighters responded to a call on October 1, 2004 at approximately 4:45 PM for an injury suffered by a teenage girl during 'grass racing' at Culley's Snowmobile Ranch. Grass racing, where snowmobiles are equipped with special traction equipment, is increasingly popular across New England.
The possibility of a closed head injury led to the call of UMass LifeFlight.
In this incident, inexperience may have led to the loss of control of the vehicle, resulting in a crash into a dry creek bed.
