On September 21, 2004 at 4:32 PM in the afternoon, the Willowfork, Texas Fire Department received a report of a house fire at Peek Road and Park Walk Lane.

The Willowfork Fire Department operates in the community of Cinco Ranch, Fort Bend County, Texas, a mainly residential area southwest of Houston. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Communications Center was now taking multiple calls reporting the fire which turned out to be on Summit's Edge Lane. The first fire unit on the scene reported a large 2-story house under construction heavily involved. The fire was threatening two exposures; a framed house under construction to the South and an occupied house to the North which already had smoke coming from the roof and attic area.

A decision was made to begin a defensive/exterior attack due to the unknown construction phase of the interior of the house. The initial attack consisted of a deck gun and 2 1/2" hand line on each exposure.

With a fast response by mutual aid companies and excellent teamwork upon their arrival, the fire was contained and the exposures received minor damage.

The fire is under investigation by the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal's Office. One Willowfork firefighter received second degree burns during the operation.

Responding units: Willowfork Fire Dept., West I-10 Fire Dept, Community Fire Dept., Katy Fire Dept, Westlake Fire Dept., Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal's Office.
