New York Firefighters Handle Car And Brush Fire

At around 9:30 am Tuesday morning Maybrook & Mechanicstown Firefighters were alerted for a possible car fire.

At around 9:30 am Tuesday morning Maybrook & Mechanicstown Firefighters were alerted for a possible car fire at MM 27.0 E/B on Interstate 84. Maybrook Rescue-213 arrived with a fully involved car and a large brush fire.

Maybrook Engine-215 arrived moments later and stretched a line and made quick work of knocking down the car fire. Mechanicstown E-118 arrived and stretched a line and handled the brush fire.

Cause of the fire that destroyed the car was believed to be mechanical in nature.
