New York Firefighters Respond to House Fire

The smoky fire created a challenge.

Several Long Island fire departments assisted the Oceanside Fire Department with a house fire on May 20.

Oceanside units were dispatched to Steven Street for a reported kitchen on fire. The first-due unit found called for a Signal 10 (working fire) and requested mutual aid.

Lynbrook, East Rockaway and Rockville Center sent ladder companies while Rockville Center also sent an engine and ambulance to the scene.

The smoky fire traveled ot the attic and gave crews a challenge.

Long Beach sent a ladder and engine and Baldwin sent an engine for standby at Oceanside Headquarters. Chief Timothy Biscay was the officer in charge.
