The United Way teamed up with Fed Ex for there annual "plane pull" on Saturday, August 21, 2004.
Each team paid $1000 to enter their team in the competition and over 37 teams entered to compete in event. Seven teams entered in the government division with the firefighters coming out on top.
Twenty Escambia County Fire Rescue firefighters pulled a 147,000 lb. Fed Ex plane 12 feet in 6.01 seconds.
