New York Crews Respond to MVA

Two people were critically injured after their car slammed into a tree.

Two people were critically injured after their car slammed into a tree in Rochester, NY, on Friday, May 22.

Rochester Engine 5 was called out around 8 p.m. to Emerson Street near Backus Street for a vehicle accident. Truck 2 and Rescue 11 were also assigned when there were reports of people trapped in the auto.

Engine 5 found a car into the tree with the driver still trapped. The passenger removed themselves before emergency crews arrived. It took about 15 minutes for Truck 2 to perform the extrication work while Rescue 11 performed stabilization duties.

Rural Metro ambulance crews transported both vicitims to Strong Memorial Hospital.
