California Crews Handle House Fire

The lone occupant escaped safely.

In the early morning hours of May 15,a house fire was reported on the 1900 block of Virazon Drive in La Habra Heights. The units from the La Habra Heights Fire Department responded to the call and reported heavy fire showing as they approached the scene.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department assisted the sole occupant who escaped through a side door. Fire was venting through the roof. Crews faced the danger of live wires down in the street that where arching.

A water supply was established, and crews worked in a defensive attack mode to prevent fire spread to neighboring areas.

Additional units from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were requested to assist with the large amounts of fire. It was knocked in approximately 45 minutes. Overhaul was performed for the next several hours.
