Charlotte, North Carolina Crews Respond To Overturned School Bus

Charlotte, N.C.- The beginning of the school year is keeping firefighters busy in North Carolina. Just after 5:30 am on August 17th, Charlotte Fire Department, Police, and Medic responded to a reported school bus crash at the intersection of Steele Creek Rd and Sam Neely Rd.

Engine 26 arrived to find and overturned Charlotte Mecklenburg School (CMS) bus and SUV that had been involved in a collision at this location. A total of 6 people, 2 of whom were adults, were treated on scene by firefighters and medic with injuries that were reported to be non-life-threatening.

The CMS bus was traveling to Harding High School when the crash occurred. CMPD is the lead investigation agency on the cause of this early morning crash.
