Chicago Firefighters battled a stubborn still and box alarm on July 25, 2004 in the early evening hours at 4411 S Wentworth.

A 1 and 2 story commercial auto repair shop was producing heavy smoke and fire upon arrival of second battalion units.

A collapse zone was established early in the fire as the front wall exhibited bowing and cracks.

Two additional engines, another tower and the HazMat unit were special called above the box. In all, a snorkel, two tower ladders, two deck guns, a ladder pipe and several handlines were used.

The fire building fronted on the busy Dan Ryan expressway and created a traffic slowdown in both directions.
