On Sunday, July 4 at 8:24 p.m., two ladder trucks, one fire engine and one rescue ambulance of Bullhead City Fire responded to a residential structure fire under the direction of Battalion Chief Greg Raymond.

Firefighters immediately began an interior fire attack. Raymond coordinated a simultaneous aggressive attack of the fire from the exterior rear of the residence. The lone resident and a friend were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. Neither required transport to the hospital.

The fire was contained to the rear of the home with some smoke and heat damage throughout the interior.

There were no injuries to fire fighters.

Fire investigator John Jones was called to the scene. After speaking to the owner and reviewing evidence, it appears the incident was an accidental fire caused by unsafe usage of an outdoor barbeque.

This was a single-wide mobile home with additions and patios.
