Rochester, N.Y. Firefighters Respond to Fatal Crash

Two men were killed when their car flipped over, crashed into a building and caught fire early Sat., June 26 in Rochester, N.Y. At 4:13 a.m. the Rochester Fire Department dispatched Engines 1 and 16, Rescue 11 and Battalion 1 to 65 Sullivan St. to the call for a car crashed into a building. Moments later, dispatch reported back that police were on scene with a car on its roof, crashed into the building and on fire. At that time Quint 6/Midi 6, Engine 17, the Deputy Chief and the Protectives were dispatched to the scene.

At that time Quint 6/Midi 6, Engine 17, the Deputy Chief and the Protectives were dispatched to the scene.

Rescue 11 arrived to find the vehicle on its roof with a partial building collapse. They then determined that two occupants were trapped. The fire was contained to the vehicle and never spread to the structure.

Despite rescue efforts, both men in the car were determined to be deceased. Crews worked until 5:57 a.m. to extricate both victims from the scene.
