Colorado Engine Crashes En Route to Wreck

A car failed to yield, and the engine could not stop in time.

Just after 11:30 on March 4, Littleton, Col. Paramedic Engine 17 was responding to a vehicle crash with unknown injuries in the 9500 block of South University Boulevard.

While driving west with the engine's lights and sirens activated, the crew approached a crowded intersection only a few blocks from the incident. A passenger car traveling southbound on Cresthill Lane failed to yield, and the engine was not able to stop in time.

The crew of radioed they had been involved in a wreck, and another was sent in their place. The crew immediately began treating the driver of the car, who was transported by Action Care Ambulance to a local hospital. One firefighter was also taken for evaluation.
