Louisiana Firefighters Injured Battling Blaze

Two firefighters suffered injuries

Springfield, La. firefighters were dispatched out to a reported structure fire at 7 a.m. on Monday Jan. 28 at a residence on Richardson Road. The first arriving unit found flames showing through the roof with heavy smoke pouring out of entire structure.

The fire spread rapidly throughout the attic, giving the firefighters not much to work with.

The fire is being investigated as an arson due to the fire spread and information gathered at the scene. The case is being handled by the Louisiana State Fire Marshall's Office.

Two firefighters were injured fighting the blaze. One of which will require surgery for the injuries he received.
