Iowa Firefighters Battle Warehouse Blaze

Storm Lake was able to save the building, but a few semi tractor trailers were lost.

The Storm Lake Fire Department was on scene for over 40 hours at a warehouse and storage facility fire on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

They received the call at 3:35 a.m. Storm Lake responded with one aerial platform, three engines, an equipment van, the rescue truck and a mini pumper staffed with 34 members.

They were assisted on scene by the Alta Fire Department, Storm Lake Police. As of now the cause is unknown. The fire was fueled by storage of large tractor and semi tires, industrial wood pallets and many barrels of stored oil.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
